Glass Menagerie

Glass Menagerie, George Street Playhouse, 1975
Directed by Peter Bennett

This most beautiful play struck both me, and the director, Peter Bennett, as a series of broken images, disconnected fragments of memory and of lives. There was a mix, therefore, of pieces of places, some in forced perspective, some cubist, some pushed to the limits of color saturation (mostly in tandem with lighting), others drained to black.
